October 4th schedule of meetings at UN Headquarters

Thursday October 4 will be a busy day at the United Nations.

The second meeting of the First Committee (the committee that deals with disarmament) will be held in Conference Room 3 at 10 AM. In preparation for the Johannesburg Summit next year, the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) along with the Department of Economic and Social Affairs will conduct a workshop on the World Summit for Sustainable Development in DC1-603 from 9:45 -1 PM and 3 PM - 6 PM.

There will be a briefing for the media on the Landmine Monitor Report from 11 AM - 11:30 AM. Jody Williams, Steve Goose and Mary Wareham, from the International Campaign to Ban Landmines, will discuss their report in the press briefing room S-226.

And the General Assembly will continue their weeklong discussion on measures to fight international terrorism in the 18th and 19th Plenary meetings at 10 AM and 3 PM respectively in the General Assembly Hall.
