Warsaw - Polish surgeons in Wroclaw, south-western Poland, on Thursday successfully completed a complicated operation on a ten- month-old Iraqi baby girl aimed at correcting a life-threatening heart defect, Polish media reported. Little Jannat hails from Baghdad, where surgeons were not equipped to perform the operation. Jannat had been expected to survive only two to three years without it.
Polish troops stationed in Iraq arranged the operation for the baby girl, who travelled to Poland with her father. The girl 's grandfather is a translator who often works for the Polish military.
