    New York - A 6.5-magnitude earthquake struck Tuesday morning off Canada's western coast, but there were no reports of casualties or damage. The quake took place in the Queen Charlotte Islands region, at a depth of 13 kilometres, and about 260 kilometres southwest of Prince Rupert, British Columbia.

    "A destructive Pacific-wide tsunami is not expected and there is no tsunami threat to Hawaii," the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said.
