Letter from Andre Schneider of World Economic Forum about why Earth Times is barred from Forum meetings

Given the different exchanges of e-mail between yourself and collaborators of the Forum, I would like to clarify an important point underlying the last open discussion between us.

Our meeting in Washington is a private event, to which we invite on a selected basis the representatives of the large international media. The same is true for our other summits which are not public events.

This has nothing to do with any discrimination of any kind, but is just simply the implication of the limited number of media representation during our meetings. This implies a selection process, that is based on the importance (based on penetration and distribution number) of the media represented.

I hope that I was able with his note to clarify this point and with my best regards,

Andre Schneider
Director, Resources and Knowledge Management
