A new solar-powered keyboard has been released for Apple products. Logitech's new K760 solar keyboard is wireless, has Bluetooth and is compatible with Mac computers, iPhones and iPads.

The eco-friendly keyboard is available from June in America and Europe at a suggested in-store price of $79.99 (£51). The product adds to a series of Logitech solar products that include the K750 wireless solar keyboard that was launched last autumn and the Solar Keyboard Folio for the iPad.

Unlike the K750, the K760 features the Bluetooth communications system that allows three devices at once to be paired or swapped in a one-touch operation. This allows users to easily swap from a Mac to an iPad or iPhone and visa-versa.

Denis Pavillard, Logitech's Vice-President of Experience design says, "Laptops, smartphones and tablets are ubiquitous - both at work and at play. Because Apple devices are central to this trend, Logitech is committed to improving the way people interact with them."

The stylish K760 features the familiar Mac keyboard layout, including the classic Command, Brightness and Eject keys, and is powered by integral solar cells. It also has a Home button that works in the same way as the iPad or iPhone version.

It also features Logitech's concave keys to maximise comfort and minimise typing noise, as well as increasing speed and accuracy.

The K760 has a minimalist, clean design that Mac fans appreciate. It contains no PVC and comes in a recyclable box that includes the onboard cells ready to charge. This can be done using even low levels of sunlight or electric light indoors and outdoors.

When the keyboard is fully charged, it can last eight hours a day for least three months, even if that period was spent in total darkness.

Logitech is one of the best-known brand names in hardware and software for computing, entertainment and communication devices.

The company was established in 1981 and its headquarters are in Switzerland. It also has offices in Newark, California, and throughout Europe, Asia and the rest of the Americas. Appropriately for the K760, it was founded in a farmhouse in a village called Apples.
