Josh Duhamel organises Japan charity run
Josh Duhamel is organising a charity run to raise money for earthquake victims in Japan.
The 'Transformers' actor is urging fans to join him on Santa Monica beach in California on Sunday (27.03.11) when he will run two miles for the American Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami fund.
Josh - who organised a similar event for victims of the Haiti earthquake in 2010 - revealed he was moved to take action after seeing footage of the devastating aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami which hit the Far East country on March 11, killing thousands upon thousands of people.
On his website, he wrote: ''If you're like me, you've seen the pain and suffering going on in Japan right now, and really feel the need to help, to physically help, to actually DO SOMETHING. Well, we can! (sic)''
Participants are being asked to pay $10 to take part.
Another celebrity who is helping the victims is Gwen Stefani, who has donated $1 million to the Children's Japan Earthquake-Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund.
She said: ''The disaster in Japan is beyond heartbreaking, and I want to do anything I can to help. I would never be able to make a gesture like this without the love and support of all the fans over all these years.''
