Ashlea was bought up in a Christian household and while she appreciates, is considerate of, and loves Christian values she finds her mind is not happy enough with faith alone. She thinks if Moses knew of the environmental devastation that was coming he would have added to the Commandments "thou shalt not harm nature".
Ash does try to live by this commandment as best she can however recognizes that simply dogmatically following 'Commandments' gets us no where. She believes that while we need to stop, curb and change our behaviors toward our planet we also need to be on a parallel journey in understanding our mindsunderstanding our human condition and why we behave so destructively in the first place. As such she studies, furiously, on subjects on both these tracks - environmental and physiological and then writes about them.
