Zoran Corporation (NASDAQ: ZRAN) announced
its new SupraTV® 260 family of highly integrated processors for pay cable
and satellite set-top boxes is now sampling.
The SupraTV® 260 processor is used in a new family of China Cable Set-Top
Boxes from DVN that will be demonstrated at the International Broadcast
Convention (IBC) 2008 at the Amsterdam RAI Exhibition Center, September
12-16. Zoran's SupraTV® 260-based reference design for global cable and
satellite set-top box markets also will be demonstrated in its private
meeting room in Hall 1, Mezzanine Level, Balcony suite B9.

design of our China Cable Set-Top Boxes. We chose the new SupraTV® 260
processor for our next generation of China Cable Set-Top boxes because it
offers significant advances in integration, performance, user interfaces,
and a lower bill of materials. We expect the new models to enter volume

The SupraTV® 260 family of processors is optimized for pay cable and
satellite set-top boxes using standard definition MPEG-2. Advanced features
enabling manufacturers to offer highly differentiated products even in
cost-sensitive markets include: 10/100 Ethernet MAC, digital video
recording hardware and software including picture-in-picture based on USB
2.0 hard drives, MPEG-4 Advanced Simple Profile and JPEG hardware decoding,
NDS ICAM and other advanced security (enabled in the SupraTV® 265
version), Broadcast Television Systems Committee (BTSC) encoding for U.S.
cable, and USB 2.0 for decoding external files using various formats.
The SupraTV® 260 family integrates a high performance MIPS32 CPU with a
Memory Management Unit supporting 16bit DDR DRAM, multi-format demodulator
supporting DVB-C / QAM Annex B / QPSK demodulation, programmable
multi-stream transport demultiplexer with NDS and other advanced security
support, 10/100 Ethernet MAC, audio processing unit supporting MPEG and
decoding of other formats as well as BTSC encoding, MPEG video decoder
supporting both MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 Advanced Simple Profile, high quality
video scalar and de-interlacer with an advanced 2D graphics engine,
hardware JPEG decoding, digital video encoder, audio DAC, digital timing
oscillator, and smart card protection and control functions. The SupraTV®
260 processor also supports two tuner digital video recording using an
external USB hard drive.
