AUSTIN, Texas - (Business Wire) Zenoss Inc., a leading commercial open source provider of Unlegacy IT systems and network management products, today announced it is a silver sponsor of the Government Open Source Conference in Washington, DC (GOSCON-DC) taking place on Thursday, November 5 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. This day-long program focuses on how federal agencies are using open technology in support of their agency mission objectives while reducing costs and creating a secure information technology environment.

GOSCON DC is designed to meet the needs of senior IT executives of federal agencies and regional, state and local government. Management, Mission and Technology tracks feature agency and industry presentations. Government agency leaders and their key technology personnel as well as legal, procurement, planning, public information and social media staff should attend.

“Hundreds of government agencies both here and abroad rely on Zenoss Enterprise for its high functionality and low cost,” stated Tim Galligan, vice president of worldwide sales for Zenoss. “We are proud to sponsor this event and further the conversation regarding open source in federal government.”

Zenoss has more than doubled its business across civilian and DoD markets since the company sponsored and exhibited at last year’s GOSCON. During this year’s show, Zenoss will demonstrate virtualization management capabilities and preview the upcoming edition of Zenoss Enterprise 2.5, which will be released later this month.

Covering the complete virtual and physical infrastructure stacks, Zenoss Enterprise delivers vital IT management functionality including asset inventory and performance monitoring, event and fault management, and virtualization management. To better serve government customers, Zenoss has created a dedicated engagement team and is increasing certification efforts. Currently, Zenoss is engaged with a Common Criteria Lab, seeking EAL Level 2.

Now in its fifth year, highlights from GOSCON 2009 program will include:

  • Breakfast Keynote: David M. Wennergren, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Information Management and Technology/Deputy Chief Information Officer U.S. Department of Defense
  • Luncheon Keynote: David G. Boyd, Ph.D., Director, Command, Control and Interoperability Division Science and Technology Directorate, U.S. Department of Homeland Security

The full conference schedule and additional speakers can be found on the conference web site at www.goscon.org.
