The completely re-architected open source WSO2 Mashup Server is now based on WSO2 Carbon, the industry’s first fully componentized service-oriented architecture (SOA) platform. The open source WSO2 Mashup Server combines the simplicity and richness of mashups with the reusability, security, reliability and governance required for SOAs. Now as part of WSO2 Carbon, the WSO2 Mashup Server significantly extends the enterprise scalability, flexibility and management of composite services.
Mashup Simplicity, Enterprise Performance
Version 2.0 builds on the proven performance of WSO2 Mashup Server, the only freely available 100% open source server for deploying mashup services. Using the flexible and dynamic JavaScript language makes it easy to describe logic to acquire information, analyze and combine it, and expose it to the user. The JavaScript programming model includes components that help acquire information from a range of sources, including Web services, scraped Web pages, Atom and RSS feeds, and local files. After scripting together these information sources, the results can be easily published as a new Web service, feeds, Ajax-style Web pages, or notifications via instant messaging or email.
As part of the WSO2 Carbon SOA platform, WSO2 Mashup Server 2.0 sits on the core Carbon framework that provides all WSO2 Carbon SOA components with enterprise-class management, security, clustering, logging, statistics, tracing, and a “Try-It” wizard for testing services. It also uses a unified graphical user interface designed to help deploy, manage, and view services, processes, process instances, and statistics across any SOA components being implemented. Any components added to WSO2 Mashup Server 2.0 are automatically recognized by the core Carbon framework and unified management console, eliminating the complexity of integration.
