WOW Orthodontist in Elk River and Princeton MN Awards Five College Scholarships to Patients in the Minnesota Area

Orthodontist Dr Bruce K A Dormanen of WOW Orthodontics in Elk River MN and Princeton MN Awards Five College Scholarships to Local High School Students Interested in the Field of Dentistry As a Way of Giving Back to the Community

ANOKA, MN, November 03, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Orthodontist Dr. Bruce K A Dormanen of WOW Orthodontics recently awarded college scholarships to students in the Elk River and Princeton MN area who are pursuing a career in the field of dentistry. The 2009/2010 college scholarships were given to local high schools students in the Sherburne and Mille Lacs Counties who were eligible to participate.

This is the first year WOW orthodontics has offered a college scholarship program to students in the area. "It is becoming more and more difficult for parents and students to afford a college education with the rising cost of tuition," said Dr. Bruce Dormanen. "This is a great way to give back to the community. The field of dentistry has been very rewarding for both me and my staff, and we plan to continue our scholarship program in the future."

The scholarships were awarded through five participating high schools. Students were notified by the guidance departments the scholarships were available, and applicants applied directly at their school. Recipients were selected and notified by the individual scholarship committees at each school.

The Participating Schools and 2009/2010 WOW Orthodontics Scholarships were awarded to:

Elk River High School - Alec Woldoch - University of Minnesota
Big Lake High School - McKinzie Qualley - St Cloud State University
Princeton High School - Alisha Mathieu - Cambridge Community College
Anoka High School - Kelly Stellenberg - Minnesota State University
Champlin Park High School - Alysha Schmidt - St. Benedict's College
