Leading manufacturer of custom-built, energy-efficient modular homes is helping homebuyers "build green" and save on skyrocketing heating fuel costs WINGDALE, N.Y., July 1
WINGDALE, N.Y., July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Westchester Modular Homes, Inc.
today announced the launch of "Your HEAT is on us!" -- a new initiative
designed to help defray rising heating fuel costs and educate homebuyers about
energy-efficient modular construction.
For a limited time this summer, Westchester Modular Homes is offering to
pay buyers of its custom-designed, environmentally-friendly modular homes the
estimated cost of heating fuel for the first year they own their new home.
"We are doing our part to combat the rising cost of heating a home," said
John Colucci, vice president of sales and marketing for Westchester Modular
Homes. "In addition to manufacturing energy-efficient 'green' homes, we are
paying homeowners' estimated heating fuel costs for a full year. This is our
way of helping people realize the American dream."
The "Your HEAT is on us!" initiative applies to new home orders placed by
August 30, 2008. Delivery must be taken by November 30, 2008. The estimated
value of heating fuel is based on the overall square footage of living space
delivered and may not exceed $5,000.
Westchester Modular Homes designs and builds homes of virtually any style
or size under factory-controlled conditions to customers' precise
specifications. These range from modest starter homes to multi-million-dollar
residences in affluent communities in a nine-state region from Maine to New
Jersey.
Modular homes are inherently energy-efficient. Westchester Modular Homes
maximizes this efficiency: R-19 wall and R-38 ceiling insulation and Andersen
400 Series Low E glass windows are standard in every home it manufactures;
these homes' deep 2 x 6 exterior wall framing accepts more insulation, and
reduced air-infiltration building techniques minimize hot or cold air loss, so
energy-conscious homeowners pay less to heat their homes in winter and cool
them in summer.
Modular homes are also "green" homes. Computer-aided precision
construction in a climate-controlled factory reduces waste and eliminates mold
and mildew problems. Individual modules are delivered to the building site
with electrical and plumbing systems installed, and may be outfitted with
kitchens and bathrooms. Because modular homes are about 80-percent complete
when delivered, damage to the ecosystem at the job site is minimized.
Westchester Modular Homes is an Energy Star(R) Partner and participates in
the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) green building
program. Homebuyers may purchase a home that is Energy Star- and
LEED-Certified and be confident it meets high standards for energy-efficiency
and environmentally-friendly construction.
Demonstrating its commitment to environmental stewardship, Westchester
Modular Homes recently outfitted its factory with highly energy-efficient
"high bay" fluorescent lighting fixtures. The overall air quality improvement
resulting from this energy-saving initiative equates to planting 27 trees,
removing 18 automobiles from the road and saving 11,255 gallons of gasoline
each year.
Westchester Modular Homes conducts free tours of its factory at 30 Reagans
Mill Road in Wingdale, New York one Saturday each month from 10:00 a.m. to
3:00 p.m. Tours are scheduled for July 12, August 2 and September 6.
Homebuyers are invited to come and discover first-hand how modular homes are
built. Visitors must be at least 18 years of age.
