WILMERDING, Pa., April 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Wabtec Corporation today announced that its Wabtec Rail subsidiary has signed a $30 million contract to refurbish 40 passenger cars for high-speed trains operated in the UK by XC Trains Limited. The project will begin immediately, with deliveries scheduled for 2008.

Under the contract, Wabtec Rail will refurbish the interior of the cars, including new seating, luggage racks and lighting; paint the exterior; and convert 21 locomotive-hauled cars to make them compatible for high-speed operation. The work will be performed at Wabtec Rail's Doncaster, England facility.
