Former eBay Financial Exec Will Play Leading Role in Mapping Financial and Growth Strategy SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 25
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- VUDU, a leading provider of digital technologies and services that deliver Internet entertainment to consumers' HDTVs and Home Theaters, today announced that former eBay financial executive Chris Watts will join the company as Chief Financial Officer.
"Chris is going to play a critical role in developing financial strategies as we extend our retail presence, deepen relationships with AV resellers across the country, and expand the functionality of VUDU's e-commerce platform," said Mark Jung, CEO of VUDU. "Chris brings deep experience in translating business strategy into financial and operating plans and that will be immensely valuable to our company going forward."
At VUDU, Watts will oversee all finance and accounting operations, along with human resources, legal and administrative functions. He brings 15 years financial management and consulting experience, most recently as divisional CFO for eBay's North America marketplaces, including eBay.com, StubHub, Shopping.com, and Rent.com. In that role, Watts drove revenue growth and operating margin expansion through a combination of efficient distribution and customer acquisition, product diversification and pricing optimization.
Watts also spent four years growing eBay's international portfolio. During this period he launched new businesses in Asia and was instrumental in driving the growth of key businesses in Europe, including eBay's highly successful franchise in the UK. Watts also previously held management positions at Commerce One, an early entrant and innovator in the electronic marketplace segment. He was also a Consulting Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
"This is a tremendous opportunity to play a leadership role at a company that is truly defining innovation in this exciting new category of digital content delivery," Watts said. "This is an outstanding management team and I'm honored to be a part of it."
Watts holds a MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA, Economics, from Stanford University.
