WHAT: The Volunteer Center of North Texas and over 125 employees of Daimler Financial Services in Fort Worth are teaming up to aid four social services agencies, the Fort Worth Independent School District and U.S. Army and National Guard troops serving in the Middle East in a day-long event at the company's Business Center near the Alliance Airport.
WHO: Agency beneficiaries will be SafeHaven of Tarrant County; Arlington Life Shelter; Fort Worth Hope Center; Alliance for Children (Arlington); and the Fort Worth ISD.
WHERE: Daimler Financial Services Business Center, 13650 Heritage Pkwy, Fort Worth, TX 76177, off I-35W, near the Alliance Airport.
WHEN: Tuesday, November 17th, BEST TIME FOR MEDIA 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. for interviews and B-Roll.
DETAILS: Through the coordinating efforts of the Volunteer Center for North Texas, Daimler Financial employees will:
- Assemble 300 Soldier Care Packages. These care packages will be delivered to two chaplains, representing the U.S. Army and National Guard, who are part of the combat support hospitals in Iraq and Afghanistan. The chaplains will distribute the care packages to soldiers in their platoons.
- Assemble 10 Bookshelves
- Assemble and stain 15 Picnic Tables
- Assemble and paint 9 Children's Table and Chair Sets
