No Major Service Outages; Crews to Work Sunday on Service Restoral BASKING RIDGE, N.J., Sept. 6
BASKING RIDGE, N.J., Sept. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- As of late this afternoon
today (Sept. 6), Verizon's network continues to deliver service to customers
from the Carolinas to New England with no significant problems.
"Hanna so far has had a minimal impact on our service delivery, causing no
major outages across our serving area," said Steve Butera, director of
business continuity planning and emergency planning for Verizon's telecom
operations.
According to Butera, customer service reports currently are running at
about the same levels as they do for typical heavy rain events. Because the
storm was not a wind event, downed trees and wires, which cause most service
problems, have not been a major issue today.
Verizon has repair crews scheduled to work tomorrow on service restoral.
