The recently enacted Federal Regulation aimed at preventing identity theft, led Sprint to add Veratad's ID Verification as a part of the Sprint Relay enrollment process. The Veratad service is also expected to help guard against costly fraud.

Teaneck, NJ (PRWEB) November 9, 2009 -– Veratad Technologies, LLC, a world class provider of Age and Identity Verification Solutions, announced today that Sprint (NYSE: S) has selected Veratad’s IDMatch and IDMatch+PLUS Identity Verification Solutions to verify subscriber identities for the Sprint Relay Service. By verifying a new Relay Service subscriber’s identity, Sprint is helping prevent costly fraud and reduce incidents of Identity Theft. The Sprint Relay Service allows subscribers who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind or speech disabled to communicate with hearing persons on the phone through traditional, online or video relay services.

“Sprint is committed to the protection of proprietary information, and as such has selected Veratad Technologies, LLC to ensure our customer's privacy and security" states Mike Ellis, director of Relay Services at Sprint.

The new Sprint Relay subscriber enrollment process will verify subscriber’s information with Veratad's non-intrusive AgeMatch and/or IDMatch / IDMatch +PLUS solutions, which utilizes information obtained from a series of trusted data sources for the purpose of providing independent name and address validation and age and ID verification. The subscriber’s enrollment is recorded in Sprint’s Relay Service Platform and their personal information is automatically removed from Veratad’s system once the verification has been completed to protect the Sprint subscriber’s privacy.

“We are very excited to work with Sprint in meeting their regulatory requirements to prevent fraud. This is a great program and we are pleased to be included in a project that is focused on helping the hearing and speech impaired gain access to a service that will help them better communicate.” said Pattie Dillon, President of Veratad Technologies, LLC.

The recently enacted Federal Regulation aimed at preventing identity theft, led Sprint to add ID Verification as a part of the Sprint Relay enrollment process. The Veratad service is also expected to help guard against costly fraud. Veratad’s flagship products IDMatch and IDMatch+PLUS include unique and innovative features that provide a balance between protecting businesses against fraud while guarding sensitive personal data and promoting a high level of consumer privacy. The strength of Veratad's products begins with unique data element sets used in the verification process and are enhanced by a proprietary rules-based application. Sprint is the largest and most technologically advanced Telecommunications Relay Service (TRS) provider in the nation, with more than 18 years experience in providing relay services to those who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, or deaf-blind, or have a speech disability. Sprint’s experience in this field assures Sprint Relay users receive quality services regardless of the type of relay service they are using. Sprint Relay currently provides TRS for 34 US States, the US Federal Government, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the Country of New Zealand.

"We are pleased to welcome Sprint to our Veratad family of customers. I believe that Sprint’s selection of our Identity Verification Solution is just another example of the growing number of major US businesses choosing to verify identities and we are proud to assist Sprint in their effort to reduce fraud and protect their customers from identity theft ", said John Ahrens, Veratad's Managing Director.

Sprint will be rolling out the enhanced enrollment process beginning November 12, 2009.
