Back-to-School Shoppers Welcomed With Major Store Makeovers and Unprecedented Deals COLUMBUS, Ohio, Aug. 4
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Value City is aggressively seeking
out the best closeouts in the industry and passing the deals on to its
customers. Consumers are being hit hard by high gas and food prices, but at
Value City, they can maximize their budgets and outfit their families in
current, brand name fashions at significantly reduced prices.
Just in time for the back-to-school season, Value City has completed an
extensive makeover of its stores and merchandise, making it easier than ever
for budget conscious consumers to find the best deals on quality, national
brand name merchandise at far greater savings than ever before.
Because buyout and closeout merchandise is not replenished, savvy
customers visit regularly and have a buy-it-when-you-see-it strategy. Value
City advertises the newest deals, buyouts and closeouts hitting the stores in
its weekly newspaper circulars. In addition, all stores hold frequent shopping
events targeted to local healthcare workers, municipal employees, educators
and other key community groups, and seniors enjoy a 10% discount on their
purchases all day every Tuesday.
As part of Value City's back-to-school strategy, stores located in
communities where school uniforms are required will carry a full range of
deeply discounted uniforms by French Toast, the best-selling uniform brand.
Shoppers at all stores will find deals on select name brand children's
fashions as well as must-have accessories, including backpacks and lunch kits.
The economic slowdown, while hurting traditional retailers, has enabled
Value City to make a number of key buyouts of shoes and casual fashions
typically seen in department stores and mall stores at much higher prices. One
major buyout, arriving in stores mid-August, features apparel from three
specialty online and catalog retailers that focus on high-end active and
outdoor wear.
Customers will find bright, clean and easy-to-shop stores when they visit
the new Value City. Floor plans have been redesigned to make it easier for
customers to see new arrivals immediately upon entering the store, with
price-specific signs on each sales rack and huge brightly colored arrows
suspended from the ceiling to point out the most sought-after deals.
