USATODAY.com Expands Online Reach through Popular Fark.com Geek Page

MCLEAN, Va., Nov. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- USA TODAY, the nation's top-selling print newspaper and a leading online destination, announces a unique partnership with Fark.com, the news aggregator and edited social networking news site. Starting today, USATODAY.com's Tech section, the one-stop guide for all things technology, will become the exclusive host and sponsor of the Geek page on Fark.com. The page is available at fark.usatoday.com.

The partnership will offer signature features from USATODAY.com on the Geek page, including: USA TODAY Tech section header with USATODAY.com navigation; Top News, offering the latest in technology news; and Talking Tech, regular videos from USA TODAY Tech Reporters Ed Baig and Jefferson Graham. As part of the arrangement USA TODAY will manage advertising placements on the Geek page, extending USA TODAY's online impressions to marketers and advertising clients.

"Ever since I first saw the words 'Tomorrow the World' scrawled by hand on the side of a USA TODAY newspaper box I knew I wanted to work with these guys," said Drew Curtis, founder and CEO of Fark.com. "USA TODAY's partnership with Fark shows that they're in the tomorrow business, unlike many major media companies, which seem permanently stuck in yesterday."

"We're glad to be able to partner with Fark.com," said Jeff Webber, publisher of USATODAY.com. "Like USA TODAY, Fark places deep value in its loyal community. Being able to share audience and content allows both USA TODAY and Fark to leverage each other's strengths."

USA TODAY was founded in 1982 with a mission to serve as a forum for better understanding and unity to help make the USA truly one nation. Through its flagship newspaper and popular Web site, USA TODAY engages the national conversation and connects readers online through social media applications. USA TODAY, the nation's number one newspaper in print circulation with a total average daily print circulation of nearly 1.9 million, and USATODAY.com, an award-winning newspaper Web site which launched in 1995, reach a combined 6.1 million readers daily. The USA TODAY news and information brand also includes: USA TODAY Education, USA TODAY LIVE, USA TODAY Mobile, and USA TODAY Sports Weekly. USA TODAY is owned by Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE: GCI).
