USCFE's educational initiative to transform entrepreneur past mistakes and lessons learned into big breaks for new business owners TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 3
TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The United States Center for Entrepreneurship (USCFE) announced the launch of its "Business Blunders and Lessons Learned" initiative as part of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation's Global Entrepreneurship Week, 16 - 22 November 2009.
The program culminates with the launch of USCFE's new "starting a small business" online classes and converts past business owner mistakes into real world lessons for fledgling entrepreneurs.
Hazardous "business blunders" will be offered via USCFE along with online classes led by world-renowned business professionals and small business experts such as Jay Conrad Levinson of Guerrilla Marketing, Dr. Ivan Misner of BNI and Lita Epstein, author of Complete Idiot's Guide to Accounting. Class topics include How to Start a Business, Business Ideas, How to Write a Business Plan, Angel Investors and more.
According to a nationwide survey, Yahoo Media Relations reports that 72 percent of American adults have considered starting their own businesses while the Small Business Administration reports less than 50% of small businesses survive beyond the first five years of operation. The fact is that many business owners fail to learn how to start a business from others and never truly conduct crucial target market research before investing their life savings.
"I believe past mistakes and lessons learned across numerous topics will sharply increase the speed and success rates for starting a small business," says David Meadows, USCFE's Executive Director.
Business owners interested in contributing to USCFE's "Business Blunders and Lessons Learned" initiative can remain anonymous or gain publicity through USCFE. Participants are asked to provide real-world mistakes and lessons learned on how to start a business, business ideas, capital, employees, communication, customer service, marketing or other critical areas for new business owners.
USCFE will begin presenting these valuable lessons on starting a small business through free teleseminars during the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation Global Entrepreneurship Week, 16 - 22 November 2009.
Meadows says, "As a serial entrepreneur, I can personally share numerous mistakes and lessons that have caused some of my businesses to fail and one to grow to over 500 employees."
