Safety Driven is a safety incentive program created by Minnesota LECET to help signatory contractors and Laborer Union members improve in the area of worksite safety. The program offers quarterly and annual award recognition throughout the year culminating in the Annual Laborers Award during the fall of each year, where one Union Laborer will be randomly drawn for the annual recognition award.
"We are very pleased with the significant response by union contractors to become part of Safety Driven," said Ron Thornburg, chairman of Minnesota LECET. "Safety is important to both the Union members and contractors to ensure the health of workers and in building high quality construction."
Currently, there are more than 11,000 Skilled Construction Laborers working on highway and commercial construction, environmental and public works projects throughout Minnesota and North Dakota.
