This complete TVS digital conversion is now available for under $100K and includes a turnkey 56-program starter system. This includes the Conditional Access (CA), Subscriber Management (SMS), and Interactive Electronic Program Guide (EPG) servers. Headend Systems capable of handling over 200 SD and HD programs run between $150 and $200K. SD and HD STB’s are also included in the offering.
The Challenger DEM-2800 includes a non-proprietary open standard platform demonstrated by field-proven installations. The system includes all needed Encoders, Multiplexers, Scramblers, Simulcrypt Support, Emergency Alert (EAS), EPG, and SMS components.
"TVS is the first in the industry to break the price barrier in delivering a fully functional all-digital CATV Headend System for under $100K," said Norman Gillaspie, President of Transparent Video Systems. "It's what the industry has been asking for, and TVS is proud to be able to deliver a system that will ease the transition from analog to digital programming, and at a price Independent Operators can afford."
