(Public, NYSE:M) was one of the top movers of today`s trading session as it rallied 6.44% to close at $19.18 on over 17.68 million shares after the company was upgraded by JP Morgan from Neutral to Overweight. Macy's, Inc. is a retail company that operates retail stores and Internet Websites under two brands, Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s, which sell a range of merchandise, including men’s, women’s and children’s apparel and accessories, cosmetics, home furnishings and other consumer goods in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Guam and Puerto Rico.
Saks Incorporated (Public, NYSE:SKS) was among the most active gainers as it rallied 3.90% to $6.13 in today`s trading session on over 5.54 million shares. The stock made an intraday high of $6.23 and an intraday low of $5.77 respectively. So far the stock prices jumped over 21% in last six months. Saks Incorporated is a fashion retail company offering a range of luxury fashion apparel, shoes, accessories, jewelry, cosmetics and gifts.
Lowe's Companies, Inc. (Public, NYSE:LOW) surged 4.33% to close at $20.94 on over 27.17 million shares. The stock made an intraday high of $21.06 and an intraday low of $20.22 respectively. So far the stock prices declined over 7% in last three months. Lowe’s Companies, Inc. is a home improvement retailer. As of January 30, 2009, the Company operated 1,638 stores across 50 states and 11 stores in Canada. Its 1,649 stores represent approximately 187 million square feet of retail selling space.
