BOULDER, Colo. - (Business Wire) The technology division of Tombstone Cards (OTCBB: TMCI) today announced the formation of a Web-to-print technology Advisory Council with the appointment of two software industry veterans, Michael Thompson and Dale Stonedahl.

Tombstone Technologies formed the Council to help establish standards and best practices as the printing industry quickly evolves toward Web-to-print imaging applications. Software platforms like Tombstones OIEPrint are opening up unprecedented opportunities for print shop customers to create and customize graphics and text via Web-based design interfaces.

Along with the creation of the Advisory Council, Tombstone Technologies has joined PODi, the leading association for digital printing service providers and digital printing hardware and software. The trade association links Tombstone Technologies with other digital print industry leaders.

With mass-market broadband penetration, the demand for Web-to-print solutions is accelerating, said John Harris, Tombstone Technologies president. These applications are the future for printing and product customization companies. We created the Advisory Council to help the industry define and adjust to this next generation of user-empowered design and imaging technology.

Between them, Dale and Michael bring over 70 years of combined industry experience to the Advisory Council, said Neil Cox, Tombstone chairman and CFO. Their wealth of knowledge and critical insight into product development and the marketplace will help the transition the industry into a new era of digital printing.

Thompson brings an extensive track record to the table as a business development leader with established and start-up firms such as Origin Data, Storage Technology and IBM. Stonedahl, an engineer by training, has been an inventor, product developer, business owner and executive for a variety of technology development firms including Martin Marietta and Rimage.

OIEPrint, Tombstone Technologies flagship product, allows individuals to create high-resolution, print-ready images for customized printing and promotional product applications. Designed for use by print shops and product customizers, OIEPrint users can start the design process by selecting from a variety of customizable templates, upload photos, logos and graphics from their desktop files and then add Rich Text or even Text-Along-a-Path. The final output not only provides print-ready graphics at 300 dpi (dots per inch) but saves the design work in separate layers in the SQL database for future editing. OIEPrint version 2.0 will soon be available across platforms including Vista, Unix and Mac.
