SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- 11/09/09 --
TMC Development, a leading Certified
Development Company providing SBA loans in California and Nevada, today
announced the winners of its 2009 Year End Small Business Awards. The
celebration, which takes place today includes two "Community Partner"
awards going to businesses that received SBA 504 loans including: Lisa
Gelfand, Gelfand Partners Architects who received a $3.9 million loan for
the purchase of 165 Tenth Street, San Francisco and Doree Friedman, Fine
Line Construction who received $2.6 million for the purchase of 943 Howard
Street, San Francisco. An "Energy Efficiency" award will be given to Mark
Vignoles, Service West Inc, who received a $10.5 million loan for the
purchase of 2054-2070 Burroughs Avenue in San Leandro. The "Community
Partner Award" will be presented by Mark Quinn, district director of the
SBA in San Francisco at 6:00pm.
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) created the 504 loan program
in 1980 to provide financing for successful, growing, small and
medium-sized businesses. Loan proceeds can be used to purchase, renovate or
construct commercial real estate properties, or for the acquisition of
equipment that has a life expectancy of 10 years or more.
"Thriving businesses are especially important to celebrate given the state
of the economy today," said Barbara Morrison, CEO of TMC Development.
"These businesses are providing jobs in our community. They have all taken
advantage of the current historically low SBA interest rates and 90% fixed
rate financing available for owner/user real estate projects up to $20
million."
Service West Inc, the recipient of the "Energy Efficiency" Award, took
advantage of the SBA 504 Energy Efficiency policy that rewards increased
energy efficiency to purchase a 132,000-square-foot commercial office
building in San Leandro. The celebration and award ceremony takes place
today at Orson, 508 4th Street, San Francisco, from 4:30pm-7:30pm.
