Syndicom Web 2.0 Solution Makes Secure Case Collaboration on Titan Spine's Endoskeleton(R) TA Interbody Fusion Device Possible for Surgeons DURANGO, Colo., Oct. 8
DURANGO, Colo., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Syndicom, the creator of the web 2.0 case collaboration platforms SpineConnect.com and TraumaConnect.com, announced today it will be working with Titan Spine to implement a surgeon-to-surgeon online collaboration strategy for its surgeons to efficiently expedite their understanding of, and case discussions about, the Endoskeleton(R) TA Interbody Fusion Device.
"After reviewing what Syndicom has accomplished with SpineConnect.com, Titan Spine saw the benefits of moving forward with a collaboration strategy that's built on the idea of connecting experts to surgeons who are new to Titan Spine's technology," said Walker Thompson, Syndicom VP of Sales and Marketing. "We provide continuing education and collaboration programs to medical device companies where experts are able to share their experiences with newly trained surgeons. In a nutshell, our goal is to help Titan Spine's surgeons develop procedure expertise."
Syndicom's platform utilizes Collaborative Knowledge Networks (CKN's) to allow communities of surgeons to interact virtually on complex patient cases while simultaneously supporting rapid, bidirectional information sharing. Based on a recent survey conducted on the SpineConnect.com community, 90% of active users agree that the ability to collaborate with their peers, using a dedicated website, has improved their ability to practice spinal surgery resulting in improved patient care.
"Syndicom's experience within the Spine market led us to the adoption of their collaboration technology," said Kevin Gemas, President of Titan Spine. "We wanted to create an online environment where our Experts could easily share surgical tips and pearls, thereby extending the educational process. Surgeons that are new to the Endoskeleton(R) TA Interbody Fusion Device can now post, search, and review cases surrounding it. We believe collaboration will have a direct impact on improving patient outcomes through enhanced knowledge sharing."
Titan Spine and Syndicom will highlight their respective technologies at the upcoming North American Spine Society (NASS) annual meeting in Toronto, Canada. Syndicom's set of proprietary collaborative technology products fosters the discovery of new treatment plans, more effective surgical techniques and life-saving medical devices.
