VERNON, CT -- 11/24/09 --
TicketNetwork.com, the leading source for event ticket inventory,
remains committed to improving the online entertainment shopping experience
by sharing its knowledge of consumer buying habits with the public.
Tips for Finding Great Seats at Great Prices
Through years of industry leadership, TicketNetwork has tracked the buying
patterns of consumers who have searched the website's inventory, which
contains over $1B sports, concert and theater tickets.
-- Tickets for concerts, theater and sporting events are sold at different intervals
depending on the ticket category.
-- Overall, most tickets are sold between 1pm and 5pm during the workday.
Despite a drop-off in purchases around dinnertime, a high level of ticket
purchases continue until 10pm. 2-9 in the morning represents the least
amount of consumer demand indicating that the morning is a good time to
find and buy good seats.
-- TicketNetwork's research also found that Monday, Tuesday and Friday are
when most tickets are sold. Tickets to sporting events are at the highest sales levels on
Tuesdays, with concert ticket sales peaking on Fridays.
-- Half of all tickets to sporting events are sold ten days in advance of
games, and the majority of theater tickets are purchased just fourteen days
in advance. In contrast, fifty percent of concert tickets are sold almost a
month prior to the event.
-- Overall ticket sales for sporting and concert events are strongest in
the summer months, with sporting events selling a higher amount of tickets
in a second wave during the November, December and January timeframe.
Although the economy is gradually improving, retailers still need to work
with buyers to navigate product availability and optimal buying times,
especially this holiday season. Cyber Monday sales commanded one of the
strongest retail coupon campaigns in history which is a strong indicator
that Black Friday and the 2010 holiday season could also generate higher
than normal ticket sales and purchases.
In addition to the insight provided on buying patterns, TicketNetwork is
helping customers ease the burden of online shopping by:
-- Offering a $15 discount coupon (Coupon code: SAVENOW) for orders over
$250. These buyers will also receive a $20 coupon at checkout for their
second purchase.
-- Developing a holiday shopping guide with gift recommendations for mom,
dad and the whole family
