The EU15 account for 91.5% of the EU's health & beauty expenditure led by the large, mature markets of Germany, the UK, France and Italy which each account for much more than a tenth of EU spend.

This dominance is driven by its large and relatively affluent population as well as the extensive store networks of dominant drugstore retailers Schlecker, dm-drogerie markt, Rossmann and Müller.
