DURHAM, NH -- 11/06/09 --
The Software Association of New Hampshire
(SwANH) (www.swanh.org) announced the winners of its annual awards. Each
year SwANH recognizes leaders in New Hampshire's software and information
technology industries. These awards celebrate companies new to the industry
and companies that have shown leadership in the industry with unique and
cutting edge technologies. This year's awards were given out at SwANH's
annual InfoXchange event during which Governor John Lynch spoke
passionately about the role technology plays in the state's economy and how
he expects technology companies such as those of the software industry will
lead our economy into the future. He and SwANH Chairman David Todaro
presented the awards.
The Rookie of the Year Award recognizes a new company that has the
potential for making a significant impact on the software industry. Ric
Pratte, CEO of this year's winner Jittergram, stated, "It's quite a boost
of confidence to receive such a great award from SwANH. With so many hot
software companies in New Hampshire it's quite an honor to be selected for
Rookie of the Year. We look forward to ensuring that SwANH's selection was
spot on and do our best to make everyone proud."
Newmarket International, a hospitality technology company, took home the
MVP Award, which recognizes an existing company that made a significant
impact on the software industry. Shawn B. McGowan, Senior Vice President,
Product Development & Support for Newmarket International Inc. added,
"Newmarket is honored to receive this recognition. As a 25-year-old New
Hampshire based software and product delivery organization, we are
consistently impressed with the technology and business talent within the
state. We see SwANH's mission and accomplishments as fundamental to
ensuring the ongoing strength of the technical talent in New Hampshire."
The Information & Computer Technology (ICT) Global Business, given jointly
by SwANH and the New Hampshire Office of International Commerce, was given
to Bottomline Technologies, a leading provider of collaborative payment,
invoice and document automation solutions, for establishing trade
relationships that have created higher sales, more jobs, boosted its
profitability, and increased the image of the NH software industry. Rob
Eberle, President and CEO of Bottomline Technologies said, "We are
delighted to be selected as the ICT Global Business of the Year by the
Software Association of New Hampshire and the New Hampshire Office of
International Commerce. New Hampshire is home to an exciting and thriving
technology industry, and we are proud to play a role in helping raise
awareness for the innovation and success being generated across the state."
