ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Nov. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Equal Access to Justice and the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of New Mexico proudly announce The Second Annual Justice for All Ball to honor the life and achievements of the Honorable Pamela B. Minzner and to recognize those outstanding individuals whose work helps ensure justice for all New Mexicans.
The Second Annual Justice for All Ball will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009, at the Embassy Suites in Albuquerque, from 5:00 -11:00 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by Vanilla Pop.
Equal Access to Justice relies on private contributions to raise funds for the four largest civil legal service providers throughout New Mexico: New Mexico Legal Aid, Law Access New Mexico, New Mexico Center on Law and Poverty, and DNA - People's Legal Services. Contributions to Equal Access to Justice are used to make justice work for those who need it but cannot afford it - to give everyone a fighting chance. During the 2008-2009 campaign, Equal Access to Justice raised $262,000 for these agencies.
The Young Lawyers Division, whose membership is comprised of all State Bar members under the age of thirty-six (36) or who have been admitted to the practice of law for five (5) or less years, has a long tradition of promoting and coordinating community service pro bono projects throughout New Mexico.
At The Second Annual Justice for All Ball, the 2009 Pamela B. Minzner Equal Access to Justice Awards will be presented to individuals whose exemplary work helps open the legal process to all New Mexicans, regardless of socioeconomic status. Last year the Minzner Award was given to Justice Pamela B. Minzner posthumously and to attorneys James J. Mason of Gallup and Fletcher Catron of Santa Fe.
Tickets for The Second Annual Justice for All Ball are $125 each, or tables of ten may be purchased for $1,000. All proceeds will go to Equal Access to Justice. Our friends in the press are invited to be our guests at the event.
