RIVERSIDE, Calif., Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The Black EOE Journal released the results of its much-anticipated 2009 survey of the nation's Top Diversity Corporations in over a dozen business categories. In its 18th year anniversary, the Black EOE Journal's Choice of the 2009 Best of the Best evaluation polled hundreds of Fortune 1000 Companies. This annual review is an evaluation of the nation's employers, supplier diversity programs, corporations by industry, government agencies and educational institutions. These non-biased studies are a valuable resource for jobseekers, business owners, students, consumers, senior management, business associations, employment agencies and consumer groups. The studies include the evaluation of data from independent research organizations, market research, public information, 10-K annual reports, survey responses, interviews and the Black EOE Journal Research Division.

This year 932 companies and institutions participated in the survey. "Recognition exhumerates excellence in diversity commitment and fosters an inclusive environment for employees, businesses, educators and consumers. The lack of management and seniority in corporations along with today's economy and growing unemployment rate has hindered minorities in climbing the corporate ladder and attempting to hit the glass ceiling. By spotlighting companies for valuing strength through diversity, they will not only continue to excel, but retain and promote more minorities thus achieving our same goal of creating global diversity," commented Mona Lisa Faris-Placey, president and CEO of Olive Tree Publishing, publishers of the Black EOE Journal, Hispanic Network Magazine and Professional Woman's Magazine.

Companies achieving excellence in multiple categories include Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), United States Marine Corps, Freddie Mac, AT&T, Wal-Mart, GE, Freddie Mac, General Mills, Toyota, WellPoint, Kaiser Permanente, IBM Corporation, Philadelphia Gas Works and many more. Tujuanna Williams, Sr. Director of the Office of Diversity & Inclusion stated, "We are honored to have been selected as a Top Diversity Employer. Creating an environment that promotes the inclusion of diverse people, ideas and cultures is a vital goal and one we're committed to achieving and preserving at Freddie Mac."

Angela Williams, AT&T Inc.'s Manager of Supplier Diversity, commented, "AT&T Supplier Diversity Programs are designed to promote, increase and improve the quality of the overall participation of small minority, woman, and disabled veteran enterprises (M/DBE and DVBEs) in our supply chain."
Wal-Mart Stores also made our list in several categories. "The Company implements initiatives to attract and retain a diverse workforce, including recruiting from colleges and universities with large populations," stated Donald Fan, Senior Director.

The results are published in the fall issue of the Black EOE Journal on newsstands on October 15, 2009. The results of the Hispanic Network Magazine will be published on November 15, 2009 and the Professional Woman's Magazine on December 15, 2009.
