produce traceability case study funded by the Economic Development Alliance of
Hawaii and administered by the Hawaii Farm Bureau Federation.
"Hawaii's recent and extensive produce traceability pilot project provides
invaluable insights into the viability of RFID technology to dramatically
improve food supply chain safety," said Dr. John Ryan, administrator for the
Hawaii Department of Agriculture's quality-assurance division, "In addition to
unveiling implementation details, we will also discuss how RFID helps to
protect the welfare of consumers through food safety and quality."

visibility across the supply chain
Workshop attendees will learn about new tools and technologies for food
supply chain optimization and authentication including specific information
about RFID tag and reader systems, data management solutions and
implementation services.
The symposium concludes with a roundtable discussion with experienced RFID
technology adopters moderated by the workshop's chairperson, Ann Grackin,
managing director with Marsh, the world's leading insurance broker and risk
advisor.
"RFID-based solutions are key to addressing the growing number of global
