While the coordinated rate cut by the world's largest central banks Wednesday was billed as a major development, stock markets reacted with little enthusiasm."
Mr. Sri-Kumar believes world leaders need to devise a systemic, coordinated plan to deal with the crisis. A deep recession is unavoidable at this point, but he expects it to be short. A decline in credit spreads will be the first indication that things are starting to turn around, he said.
