TAIPEI, Taiwan - (Business Wire) Taiwan SME (www.taiwansme.com) Thrusts Taiwan's Excellent SMEs onto the International Stage. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have always been the backbone of Taiwan's economic development, currently numbering over 1.236 million and covering about 97.63% of all the enterprises in Taiwan. Their total export value tops US$530 million which contributes to 17% of Taiwan's overall exports. In 2009, the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration of Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs (SMEA) created a special website project—"Taiwan SME" (http://www.taiwansme.com) to assist Taiwanese SMEs in participating in international trade shows as well as building their own global marketing websites. In other words, "Taiwan SMEs" is utilizing both actual and virtual channels to increase the SMEs' worldwide exposure, contact potential overseas buyers, and successfully thrust the SMEs onto the international stage. "Taiwan SME" specially selects the SMEs which have won awards presented by SMEA, such as the Rising Star Award, National Award of Outstanding Small and Medium Enterprises, and Taiwan Small & Medium Enterprises Innovation Award, to appear on the website. The award-winning SMEs are E-COM TECHNOLOGY CORP., Penpower Technology, GKB CCTV CO., LTD., CyberLink, AVC, KO DA PHARMACEUTICAL, TAIKONG Corp., TAIWAN VALVE, etc. The website features more than 4,000 pieces of product e-catalogs, encompassing Taiwan's wide-ranging superior industries like electronic parts, computer soft & hardware, consumer electronics, machinery parts, Western & Chinese medicine, aqua-biotechnology, etc. Please visit www.TaiwanSME.com for more information.
