ST. PAUL, Minn. - (Business Wire) Synovis Life Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: SYNO), announced today that it has hired Patrick L. Horan to fill the key role of vice president of sales for the Surgical Group. Richard W. Kramp, president and chief executive officer, said, “We are extremely happy to have Patrick join our team and we feel fortunate to have attracted a professional of his caliber. Pat came on board just in time to attend the first National Symposium on Veritas Collagen Matrix held in conjunction with the American Society of Plastic Surgeons Meeting in Seattle, Washington. This was an ideal way to get introduced to our premier tissue product as he heard four surgeon thought leaders present their experience with Veritas, and he participated in the resulting discussion among the 40 to 50 surgeon attendees. Shortly thereafter, he attended Surgical’s national sales meeting and personally met each member of the team. “Patrick will lead Surgical’s region managers and territory sales representatives as they continue to expand our presence in the soft tissue regeneration and reconstruction market in the new fiscal year. He comes to us from Medtronic where, over the past 10 years, he held positions of increasing responsibility in corporate sales, sales operations development and group purchasing contract negotiations; and where he gained a breadth of experience in multiple business variables affecting the healthcare environment. This background and experience will be valuable to Synovis as our products become a more significant portion of hospital purchases,” Kramp continued.
Horan has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri and certificates of continuing education in Advanced Negotiations and Negotiator Facilitation from Harvard Law School, Healthcare Finance and Accounting from the Wharton School of Business, Pricing Strategies and Tactics from the Kellogg School of Business Management of Northwestern University and several other certifications in leadership and management.
“Patrick is also very active in the healthcare industry, recently holding positions as vicechairman of the Healthcare Industry Supply Chain Institute, a director of the Global Healthcare Exchange and director of the Health Industry Group Purchasing Association. He is a strong addition to our growing company and brings a new level of expertise and sophistication to our sales effort,” Kramp added.
