NEW YORK - (Business Wire) Susan Plagemann has been named Vice President & Publisher of Vogue, it was announced today by Charles H. Townsend, President and C.E.O. of Condé Nast. Ms. Plagemann will report to Thomas A. Florio, Senior Vice President and Publishing Director for the Vogue properties, Bon Appétit, and Condé Nast Traveler. Her appointment is effective January 4, 2010. “Susan has had a successful and distinguished career at Hearst,” Mr. Townsend said. “She is experienced, creative and extremely well connected. Tom and I are thrilled to welcome her back to Condé Nast.”

Ms. Plagemann has been the Vice President & Publisher of Marie Claire since 2004. Previously, she was the Vice President & Publisher of Lifetime, published jointly by Hearst and the Walt Disney Co., until it was closed. She was the Publisher of Cosmopolitan from 1999 to 2002 and the Associate Publisher from 1997 to 1999. Ms. Plagemann joined Hearst in 1995 as the Advertising Manager of Esquire. She started her publishing career at Condé Nast, where she held a variety of advertising positions at Mademoiselle.
Ms. Plagemann lives in Manhattan with her husband and their three children.
