Sunrise Telecom's flagship telecommunication surveillance system will monitor performance and troubleshoot networks for Alice, Telecom Italia's broadband access provider in Germany SAN JOSE, Calif., July 29
SAN JOSE, Calif., July 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sunrise Telecom(R)
Incorporated (Pink Sheets: SRTI.PK), a leader in test and measurement
solutions for telecom, wireless and cable networks, today announced that its
Traffic Analysis and Monitoring System (TAMS) and TAMS 7-VoIP Application
Module will be deployed by Alice Germany, the German broadband access provider
of Telecom Italia. Alice's network operation department will use these
market-leading tools to troubleshoot and monitor its growing NGN network.
The Sunrise Telecom solution was chosen, in part, because of its advanced
reporting engine, which can alert the operations department of degradations
both in the network and with services. This critical function provides a
better view into how customers actually experience the services, and enables
significantly faster reaction times for corrective actions. In addition, the
TAMS and TAMS 7-VoIP Application Module allow Alice to monitor interconnection
traffic links with Other Licensed Operators (OLOs) to better measure and
enforce service level agreement guarantees.
"With the new generation of interactive data services being offered over
wireless and wireline networks, it is imperative that operators understand not
just how the network is behaving, but how end-users are actually experiencing
the services," said Michele Campriani, general manager of Sunrise Telecom's
Protocol Products Group. "We are very proud of our partnership with
Alice/Telecom Italia, as they represent a textbook example of how the
effective use of monitoring and troubleshooting tools can ease deployment of
these advanced services and actually improve their performance over time."
Sunrise Telecom's TAMS is a flexible and cost-effective network
maintenance and diagnostic system for wireline, wireless, VoIP service
providers and carriers. The system provides troubleshooting, reporting,
alarming and call detail record (CDR) forwarding to an external billing
verification application. Each probe unit supports between four and 32 E1/T1
links, up to eight LAN links and STM-1 connections, providing a complete
network monitoring solution for small and large service providers, without
high overhead costs. The easy-to-use system indicates network faults as well
as provides tools for problem isolation, analysis, and resolution verification
in one integrated platform.
The TAMS 7-VoIP system, comprised of eight probes based on NeTracker
technology and one centralized server, monitors every point of interconnection
as well as Softswitch interconnections to all NGN elements. With the TAMS,
this application module enables customers to trace a specific call through the
network regardless of the traversed protocols and easily understand if
problems are on the network or coming from external sources. For more
