Simple design offers extreme reliability PETALUMA, Calif., Oct. 28
PETALUMA, Calif., Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Xandex Solar today announced its new SunMizer(TM) DC Power Optimizer has completed in-house and Ops A La Carte LLC reliability modeling and testing. The reliability modeling concludes that SunMizer(TM) has an expected Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) of more than 500 years.
Xandex Inc, leveraging more than 28 years of experience designing high quality, high technology products, conducted electrical performance, environmental qualification and field tests to ensure SunMizer(TM) performance over the range of operating conditions exceeds the expected life of the product. "The SunMizer(TM) design and quality team's number one focus is reliability," stated Xandex VP of Engineering and Quality, Jeff Muchow. "Our team hit the mark by maintaining low component count and using components designed for use in demanding environments. In addition to extensive testing in the Xandex Reliability Lab, we knew we wanted to engage in Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) to improve product reliability and support implementation of Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS) in production; our partner, Ops A La Carte was able to supply this and much more."
Ops A La Carte LLC, leveraging experience of reliability testing more than 500 products worked with Xandex to successfully execute HALT of the SunMizer(TM) product and develop a HASS protocol for production. "The Ops A La Carte team was able to integrate and collaborate with the Xandex team on their schedule and provide traditional reliability models," Mike Silverman, Managing Partner for Ops A La Carte stated. "In addition, our proprietary tools and patented reliability estimation methods were used to ensure SunMizer(TM) operates beyond its expected life, critical for a product with a generous warranty."
