REDWOOD SHORES, CA -- 11/02/09 --
Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL)
News Facts
- SPS Commerce, the leader in
multi-tenant Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) supply chain integration,
providing connectivity, visibility and intelligence to thousands of trading
partners around the globe, uses Oracle® Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition
(Oracle BI Suite EE) to deliver the SPS Trading Partner Intelligence
service, Oracle announced today.
- The SPS Trading Partner Intelligence service is a 100 percent
web-based, multi-tenant business intelligence application which offers
fact-based information to its 37,000 customers to help them optimize their
retail supply chains.
Intelligent SaaS Service for Retail Trading Partners
- Minneapolis, Minn.-based SPS Commerce offers supply chain services to
trading partners in the retail ecosystem, including retailers,
distributors, suppliers, 3PLs, transportation companies and others,
replacing manual fulfillment processes with automated and integrated
operations, including full integration support for Oracle ERP applications.
- SPS Commerce's SaaS platform supports a complete set of transactions
exchanged between tens of thousands of trading partners daily. In late
2008, SPS Commerce formally released Trading Partner Intelligence powered
by Oracle BI Suite EE to offer customers unmatched insight and visibility
into key supply chain performance metrics that were previously very
difficult to attain.
- SPS Commerce developed a number of Trading Partner Intelligence modules
designed specifically for retailers, suppliers, logistics providers and
carriers to improve their decision making processes,
including:
- Helping suppliers gain a better understanding of product
sell-through with interactive analysis of point-of-sale data from retail
customers.
- Proactively identifying in-store issues, such as out-of-stock and
surplus inventory situations while improving forecast accuracy and
optimizing inventory levels.
- Understanding supply chain bottlenecks for suppliers and logistics
firms with interactive analysis of fulfillment issues such as late or
incomplete shipments.
- Providing retailers with visibility into detailed vendor
performance and compliance analyses, as well as enabling vendor
collaboration to identify continuous performance
improvements.
- SPS completed the implementation on time and within budget, providing
the scalability needed to deploy the platform to customers quickly. To
date, more than a dozen customers are taking advantage of SPS Commerce's BI
offerings. SPS Commerce anticipates that a quarter of its customer base
will adopt its intelligence service by 2012.
- In addition to serving as the BI platform for its customers, Oracle BI
Suite EE is used internally by SPS Commerce to monitor its transaction
performance, segment market data, and analyze billing data -- helping it
run its business more efficiently.
- SPS Commerce runs its SaaS B2B integration service on the Oracle Platform
for SaaS, based on a grid computing foundation including Oracle
Database, Oracle Real Application Clusters, components of Oracle Fusion
Middleware, and Oracle Enterprise Linux.
