SAN RAMON, Calif. - (Business Wire) HomePNA announced today that Spirent and Cianet have joined the HomePNA home networking alliance. HomePNA, which was installed in more North American homes last quarter than any other home networking technology for IPTV over coax and phone wires, is seeing strong demand from service providers worldwide.
"CIANET is a strong supporter of HomePNA technology,” said Norberto Dias, CIANET Networking. “We see strong demand for our HomePNA 3.1 products and believe the HomePNA Alliance will help us establish the technology as the standard for high bandwidth IPTV home networking in Brazil and Latin America."
“Multi-wire operation is a strategic advantage worldwide and HomePNA 3.1 is the only home networking standard that provides consistent high performance over both phone wires and coax,” said William Simmelink, president of HomePNA. “We are pleased to welcome Cianet and Spirent to our rapidly growing list of members.”
“With the addition of Spirent, the number of test set manufacturers supporting HomePNA continues to grow strongly,” said Olga Yashkova, lead industry analyst for communications test and measurement at Frost & Sullivan. “Service providers are very aware of the costs associated with installing customer premises equipment for IPTV and VoIP services, and the variety of commercial test equipment available and currently in development indicates strong industry support for the HomePNA standard.”
