Selection to help reduce energy costs, increase efficiencies and promote renewable energy STAMFORD, Conn., Nov. 3
STAMFORD, Conn., Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Tradition Energy, one of the world's largest energy management advisors, today announced their selection by Sony Europe to provide energy management services for 54 Sony facilities in 25 European countries including their corporate headquarters, technology centers, warehouses and Sony Style retail locations.
"We look forward to cooperating with an experienced energy advisor who will also help us to continue our success in reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through the purchase and use of renewable energy," said Michael Kaiserauer, European Head of Real Estate and FM at Sony Europe. "Tradition's recognized leadership in green energy and environmental products is a natural complement to Sony's GHG reduction goals."
Sony Europe has achieved independent certification that every facility which is certified under Sony Global Environmental Management System (GEMS)* was in FY2008 powered by 100% renewable energy amounting to 193 million kWh, avoiding approximately 55,000 tons of CO2 emissions. Through continuous energy efficiency efforts, Sony's European operations have reduced CO2 emissions by approximately 90% between fiscal years 2000 and 2008.
"Sony is one of the best-known and best-loved electronics and entertainment brands in the world," said Alan Kurzer, President, Tradition Energy. "Our global energy specialists look forward to providing Sony with our award-winning service and expertise."
Energy specialists from Tradition's offices in London, Frankfurt, Stamford, and Houston will work with Sony's European team.
