Sonian Closes $5.6 Million in Series A Funding

As a result of the financing, Prism's Will Kohler and Summerhill's Gary Rubinoff have also joined the company's Board of Directors. Other company advisors include John Landry, the former VP of Technology Strategy at IBM and CTO of Lotus Development.

Sonian's financing will be used to expand the company's marketing and engineering efforts.

Company Founder Greg Arnette formerly started and served as CTO of IntelliReach Corporation, a pioneer in integrated messaging management, which was acquired by Infocrossing. An expert at leveraging open source technology within virtual environments, Arnette founded Sonian in 2007 to solve ever-increasing data management and archiving demands with a software solution designed to run on next-generation cloud infrastructure. As a result, Sonian is the first SaaS archive and analysis solution to launch from the cloud to be the trusted caretaker for all enterprise data.

President and CEO George Nichols Jr. brings over 18 years of executive leadership in the technology industry. His career includes executive-level operational responsibilities, including strategy, sales, business and corporate development. Formerly, he was with Dialogic Communications, a provider of hosted critical messaging systems. Dialogic grew from a $4.5 million to $21 million operating company and was acquired in 2006 by Plant CML, a Golden Gate Capital portfolio company.
