PALO ALTO, Calif. - (Business Wire) Skyline Ventures, a leading venture capital firm that focuses on medical device and biopharmaceutical investing, announced today the promotion of Glenn Reicin to Managing Director. Mr. Reicin was previously a Venture Partner at Skyline, a position he has held since October 2008. Skyline also announced the addition of Leon E. Chen, Ph.D., and Kristin Lynn Myers as full-time Associates. Skyline’s team of investment professionals also includes John G. Freund, M.D.; Eric M. Gordon, Ph.D.; Stephen J. Hoffman, M.D., Ph.D.; Yasunori Kaneko, M.D.; David G. Lowe, Ph.D., and Stephen J. Sullivan, M.D. Skyline is based in Palo Alto, California, except for Stephen Hoffman, who is based in Skyline’s office in Waltham, MA, and Glenn Reicin, who is based in Skyline’s office in Stamford, CT.

Prior to joining Skyline, Mr. Reicin was a Managing Director in the Research Department at Morgan Stanley, covering medical devices and supplies. While at Morgan Stanley, Mr. Reicin was ranked in the Institutional Investor "All-America" team from 1994 through 2008, including six years as #1. Previously, he was a Senior Vice President at Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. and, prior to that, a senior healthcare analyst with Fidelity Management. Mr. Reicin also worked for Bain & Company as a management consultant, concentrating on the healthcare industry. He received a BA in Economics from Brandeis University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Dr. Chen is a co-founder of KAI Pharmaceuticals, a Skyline portfolio company, where he served in a number of positions, including Senior Director of Technology. Dr. Chen received a BA in Biochemistry from University of California at Berkeley and a Ph.D. from the Department of Molecular Pharmacology at Stanford University. He received an MBA from Stanford Business School in 2009.
Prior to joining Skyline, Ms. Myers spent over five years in the Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management division of Medtronic, Inc., in engineering, marketing, and sales, most recently as a Technical Sales Representative in New York City. She received a BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and an MBA degree from Harvard Business School in 2009.
