CHICAGO - (Business Wire) SHARE Inc., the world’s largest association of corporate users of enterprise IT, recently announced the four keynote presenters who will speak during the summer 2009 conference taking place August 23-28, 2009 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.

In addition to the General Session keynote presentation, dedicated keynotes will center on SHARE’s 2009 conference themes, Virtualization and Service Orientation, as well as on System z. The expert speaker lineup includes:

  • General Session Keynote: Daniel Burrus, Monday, August 24 at 8:00 a.m.
  • Virtualization Keynote: James Staten, Tuesday, August 25 at 8:00 a.m.
  • Service Orientation Keynote: Grady Booch, Wednesday, August 26 at 8:00 a.m.
  • System z Keynote: Chris O’Malley, Monday, August 24 at 9:30 a.m.

Over the past two decades, Daniel Burrus, Technology Forecaster and Business Strategist at Burrus Research, has established a worldwide reputation for his exceptional record of accurately predicting how technological, social and business forces are converging to create enormous, untapped opportunities. During his General Session presentation, “Technotrends: The Big Ideas That Are Changing Everything,” Burrus will focus on technology-driven innovation and the new challenges and opportunities that will result from accelerating change.

From the perspective of serving as Principal Analyst of Forrester Research, James Staten will discuss the burgeoning interest in, and use of, cloud computing services and platforms during the Virtualization Keynote. In the presentation, “Is Your Next Data Center In the Cloud?” Staten will provide a better understanding of what’s real (and not) in cloud computing and how organizations can best take advantage of it.

Recognized internationally for his innovative work in software architecture, software engineering, and collaborative development environments, IBM Fellow Grady Booch will present “Software Abundance in the Face of Economic Scarcity,” examining the potential of software abundance and the best practices that lead there. During the Service Orientation keynote, Booch will share insights on software-intensive systems as inescapable and necessary elements in helping to operate, innovate and even thrive in the face of lean economic times.

A 23-year veteran of the IT industry, Chris O’Malley is executive vice president and general manager for CA’s Mainframe Business Unit. During the System z keynote address, “State of the Mainframe - Empowering the Next Generation to Support the Mainframe’s Leading Role in the Enterprise Architecture,” O'Malley will discuss new tools, interfaces and approaches to mainframe management that will empower a new generation of IT professionals to make the mainframe an even more compelling platform for the future than it has been in the past.
