ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- SENTEL Corporation, an
engineering and technology services company that provides the federal

products, services and IT solutions, announced today that it has won a
four-year, $21.7 million contract with the Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA). SENTEL will be supporting the FAA's Air Traffic Organization Safety
Management System (SMS).
According to the FAA, "The forecast growth in air transportation will
require new measures and a greater effort from all aviation producers --
including airport operators -- to achieve a continuing improvement in the
level of aviation safety." The SMS program includes safety policy, safety
risk management, safety assurance (e.g., safety audits, evaluations, quality
assurance, and quality control), and safety promotion (e.g., SMS training,
open and proactive safety culture promotion, and the improvement of safety
performance and related actions through reported findings).
