Academic and civic leaders join Kamen and Google execs to look at ways cities and universities can attract talent and make Michigan more globally competitive

DETROIT, Oct. 8 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Producers for the Creative Cities Summit 2.0 today announced that Segway inventor and entrepreneur Dean Kamen and Google's John Burchett and Grady Barnett will join U-M Vice President for Research Stephen Forest, MSU Provost Kim Wilcox and others for a special conversation about Michigan's emerging economy. The panel discussion will take place from 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 in the Columbus Ballroom at the Renaissance Center.

"We are thrilled to have assembled such a great panel of Michigan thought leaders to discuss the critical connections between cities and universities and how those connections impact the talent pool for business," said CCS2 co-producer Karen Gagnon.

Gagnon, the Master of Ceremonies for the session will be joined by the other CCS2 co-producer Peter Kageyama who will moderate the session. Participants will be able to hear firsthand why companies like Google choose the places they do and how cities and universities can become more globally competitive.
