Recipients of the 2009 Microsoft Alumni Foundation Integral Fellows Awards will be announced Wednesday, November 18th at the 2009 Founders’ Gala with Bill and Melinda Gates in Bellevue, WA.

Santa Barbara, CA (PRWEB) November 17, 2009 -- Santa Barbara Medical Innovations (SBMI) today announced its participation as a sponsor of the Microsoft Alumni Foundation’s 2009 Founders’ and Integral Fellows Awards Gala. SBMI is the marketing & sales partner of Erchonia® in North America, the creator of the ZERONA® low-level laser.

The Integral Fellows program recognizes and supports Microsoft alumni who have made a meaningful difference to others by contributing to the community.

Recipients of the 2009 Microsoft Alumni Foundation Integral Fellows Awards were selected by a distinguished panel of judges - former President Jimmy Carter, Bill Gates Sr., Bill Drayton, Pierre Omidyar, and Tom Tierney - and will be announced Wednesday, November 18th at the 2009 Founders’ Gala with Bill and Melinda Gates in Bellevue, WA. Information about the Integral Fellows Program and Founders’ Gala can be found at the Microsoft Alumni Foundation website: www.microsoftalumni.org.

SBMI is donating pain and wound healing lasers through the Gates Foundation to healthcare organizations in various emerging countries, which are now being selected. SBMI also serves as a sponsor of the Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation, which provides support services to people with Alzheimer’s and other diseases and their caregivers.

The ZERONA® body slimming laser is the first Erchonia® device to be distributed by SBMI. “Public awareness of ZERONA is growing exponentially as the demand for clinically proven, non-surgical body slimming is at an all-time high”, said Chip Conk, CEO of SBMI. “The number of physicians and top-tier medical spas that are offering ZERONA® is expanding greatly every month.”

ZERONA® utilizes the Erchonia® Laser Scanner, the safest and most researched low-level laser in the world. Initially designed and FDA approved for use during liposuction, the non-invasive laser is applied to emulsify the adipose (fatty) tissue and release excess fat into the interstitial space (the space between the fat cells). From there, fat is passed through the body during its normal course of detoxification.

Rowland Hanson, Chairman of SBMI says that the company will soon commence distribution of Erchonia® low level lasers for elimination of pain, treatment of acne and to promote rapid healing of wounds without the use of drugs. Today, thousands of healthcare professionals worldwide are using Erchonia® lasers for a variety of applications.
