COLUMBUS, OH -- 11/03/08 --
Safelite AutoGlass, the nation's largest
vehicle glass repair and replacement company, recently unveiled its
technician profile e-mail, a tool created to provide an additional level of
comfort and safety for its more than 3.2 million customers nationwide.
Once a customer has scheduled an appointment with Safelite and provides his
or her e-mail address, the customer receives an e-mail containing the name,
brief bio and photo of the technician who will perform the service.
The e-mail also provides a quote for the service requested, along with the
estimated time of service and location.
"We wanted to provide our customers with information about the certified
technician that would visit their homes or offices, providing peace of mind
that the technician performing highly technical work on their valued
possessions is both capable and trustworthy," said Jennifer Kielmeyer, web
and emerging technologies, strategic marketing manager for Belron US,
parent company of Safelite.
Customers will receive the technician profile e-mail whether they have
scheduled service online or over the phone, providing they have given their
e-mail address. Implementation of this service began in May and nearly
1,000 e-mails have been distributed to consumers since then.
A recent survey conducted by Safelite found that 80 percent of respondents
liked the e-mail they received and 85 percent said they felt more
comfortable with the technician coming to their home once they had received
the e-mail.
"I appreciated the photo of the technician so that I knew the person who
was taking my car key was the proper person to have it," said one Safelite
customer.
Eighty-eight percent of respondents felt the job would be done properly and
professionally after receiving the e-mail, and many respondents commented
they liked seeing the photo of their technician before he or she arrived at
their home.
The technician profile e-mail will be rolled out to all Safelite customers
during 2009.
