LOS ANGELES, CA -- 05/20/08 --
RotoHog.com, a leading fantasy sports
operator and software developer for major brands and professional sports,
announced today that its Board of Directors has named Kelly Perdew as the
organization's new CEO.
Perdew has held numerous leadership positions in the sports and internet
markets with such companies as ProElite, CoreObjects Software,
MotorPride.com, K12 Productions, and eteamz.com. As the President of
ProElite.com a subsidiary of ProElite, Inc, Kelly built the largest social
networking platform for mixed martial arts in less than a year, helped
raise over $40M and developed partnerships with CBS, Showtime, IMG and
numerous web properties. Prior to ProElite, Kelly was the winner of the
second season of NBC's "The Apprentice" and worked directly with Donald
Trump and the Trump Organization as a Senior Vice President on numerous
real estate projects. Perdew was the President of eteamz.com (now a part
of Active Networks) which is home to more than 3 million amateur sports
teams. After earning a bachelor's degree at the United States Military
Academy at West Point, Kelly served in the US Army as a Military
Intelligence Officer and Airborne Ranger. Kelly also earned an MBA from
The Anderson School at UCLA and a JD from the UCLA School of Law.
"Kelly's unique background and consistent role in delivering sports and
entertainment in the digital world makes him the leader we were looking
for," said Leo Spiegel, RotoHog board member and managing partner at
Mission Ventures.
Perdew also donates his time as a national celebrity spokesperson for Big
Brothers Big Sisters and the National Guard Youth Challenge Program. In
2006, President Bush appointed Perdew to the Council on Civic Participation
and Service to recognize civic contributions by Americans in their
communities.
"Leading the team at RotoHog is a dream come true," said Perdew. "The
fantasy sports market is huge and RotoHog delivers the most compelling
games available for the top leagues and sites around the world. I'm
excited to help grow the company, continue to build out a world-class team,
and deliver great results for our customers, employees and shareholders."
"RotoHog has grown to the next level, and Kelly is a perfect fit to lead us
forward. I am extremely excited to have this opportunity to work with
him," said David Wu, co-Founder of RotoHog.com, who is moving to the
position of President.
Perdew's arrival at RotoHog coincides with the launch of the company's
first ever fantasy soccer game, developed in partnership with Grupo RBS in
Brazil, one of that country's leading media companies. RotoHog also powers
fantasy games for professional sports leagues and for multiple Fortune 1000
companies. For 2008, RotoHog will continue developing international
relationships as well as expand their product base to include fantasy
hockey, auto racing, golf and more. RotoHog has also taken a significant
step in developing a true fantasy sports community around its current
stable of games, including football, baseball, soccer and basketball, with
expert blogs and columns, video, user forums and a sports-specific social
bookmarking section called Smack Back.
