MONTREAL, Nov. 3 e-Mechtronix-AscentXJ
Romania's Most Prestigious Aviation School to offer MCC and
Jet Transition Capability
MONTREAL, Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ - Mechtronix Systems Inc., a division of Mechtronix World Corp. (MWC), the fastest growing and third leading provider of flight training equipment in the world, today announced the purchase by Romanian Aviation Academy (RAA) of an Ascent(R) XJ Trainer(TM) configured as a generic twin-engine heavy jet aircraft with a conversion kit to a regional turboprop. The FTO plans to use the device to provide MCC training in a jet environment and jet orientation courses to complete their ATPL training curriculum and better prepare their pilot students for Type Rating training. RAA plans to deploy the cost-effective unit early 2010 at its flight training facility based in Bucharest, Romania.
The new flight simulation training device (FSTD) will familiarize RAA's pilot students with the automated flight deck, systems complexity, handling quality and performance of a large commercial jet featuring EFIS environment, EGPWS, FMS, TCAS, and weather radar. The Ascent(R) XJ Trainer(TM), convertible to a Regional Turboprop, offers superior definition, contrast, brightness and refresh rate via a FFS-quality Image Generator (IG) and Full HD projectors. The trainer features a 180 x 35 degree field of view and Continuous Earth Real Terrain System (CERTS) providing exceptional visual scenery realism. RAA will seek qualification JAR-FSTD A FNPT II MCC under EASA regulations.
"We look forward to taking delivery of our Ascent(R) XJ Trainer(TM) manufactured by Mechtronix Systems and see this acquisition as a smart investment for MCC training as it will enable us to provide our pilot students with jet experience while ensuring well prepared students for type rating and line entry for our airline customers", said Mr. Sorin Cristian Rosca, Training Director at RAA. "The Ascent(R) XJ Trainer(TM) will help our academy to optimize its training curriculum and ensure a smooth transition from ab-initio training to type rating for our future pilots. The selection process was conducted in accordance with the European Union requirements and Mechtronix' solution was fully compliant to the stringent tender specifications and represented the best offer in terms of quality, cost efficiency and reliability."
"We are very pleased RAA selected Mechtronix Systems ground-breaking Ascent(R) XJ Trainer(TM)", said Mechtronix Systems President Xavier Herve. "This is our second sale in Romania, proving that our Ascent(R) XJ state-of-the-art transition to jet technology is ideally suited for top-flight aviation schools worldwide. This is the only FSTD to be known to have full flight simulator technology in a non type-specific environment providing a unique level of realism cost-effectively; our Ascent(R) XJ is built from the ground up on a foundation of our exclusive FFS X(TM) technology when it comes to the design and manufacturing processes. The Ascent(R) XJ Trainer(TM) is the only one of its kind and proves to have better results and a greater lifelong cycle."
